"It's just a little landmark, but ended up as one of my favorite spots in all the cities I visited on this trip. Maybe everything reminds me of some artist, but as with a lot of buildings in the old world, the angles, spiral perspectives and neighboring tiled roofs make it a bit like being in an Escher. If you are ever in this part of the world, take the time to stroll on over and climb up to the top. Just the right amount of vertigo."
"The last moments before dark when the blues fade into blackness. I was lucky to capture the gorgeous coast of Split before the night arrived. I felt huge excitement to see Croatian coast for the very first time, thinking about the adventures ahead of me!"
"Kaštel Gomilica is the filming location for Braavos in Season 5 of Game of Thrones. If only they had a real Titan.
Image is a still from the show."
"The Krka National Park (Croatian: Nacionalni park Krka) is a national park in central Dalmatia (Croatia). The park encompasses an area of 109 square kilometers along the Krka River. There are a lot of beautiful waterfalls.
Just a fantastic place to spend the holidays there. :)"
"The main port of Makarska Revier, where they go and fit ships with passengers that offer various forms of excursions and trips to numerous known islands"
"On the bus from Mostar to Split, we followed an awe-inspiring mountain range along the coast. From the bus window, I somehow couldn't grasp the range with my camera until I saw this. I think it was the backside of a supermarket. Would the mountains be as beautiful without it? Yeah, no doubt, and probably much more so. Still..."
"People come from near and far to the picturesque village on Rogotin in Croatia. It's located by a lake formed of a side stream from Neretva River right by the sea. This village is a well-known training place for water sports such as rowing and there are lovely guesthouses to stay at the village.
I visited a newly renovated guest house Kuća Za Odmor right by the lake - it only costs 15e/person for a night and was really lovely. From Rogotin we took a boat to the sea and bathed in the delta of Neretva river where shallow sand dunes are formed in the sea and the water is a mixture and sweet and salty water - and being shallow the water was really warm too!"
"Croatia is known for its numerous islands, turquoise sea and beautiful beaches. I got to experience this for the first time myself - warm sea and shallow waters by the natural sand dunes - it was like taking a bath. An absolutely lovely experiences!
Being surrounded by wild mountains it felt like being in the middle of nowhere despite being so close to the nearest town. It felt somehow odd to see Chinese fishermen laying their nets nearby and reminded me of my travels to India and Sri Lanka. I guess odd things happen everywhere. I spent a memorable morning bathing in the warm waters of the Adriatic Coast of Croatia. Less than 24 h to my trip and I've already fallen in love with this country!"
